If anyone knows a place to get a good deal on this disc, I'm all ears. Of course, if you are a couple years behind (like me), there are many other changes from other versions in between as well. I also just found the release notes (moments ago!) for 13.1, if you want to know some details on what has changed in the most recent update. It has worked quite well to mitigate the outrageous prices the dealer charges, though I am currently on the hunt for a 13.1 disc, since I am several years behind now, at 9.1. I have updated the disc in my 2006 a few times since I bought it, each time buying off eBay then selling my old disc to offset the cost. The tell-tale sign in the auction (aside from the < $100 price tag), is usually that the compatible vehicle list does NOT include the Prius. Beware that many online sellers pass off extremely good-looking fakes for originals, which work in pretty much any other Toyota or Lexus, except the Prius. Also please note that the Prius nav is notorious for only accepting genuine DVDs (so don't even waste your time or money trying to pirate a disc or buying a 'copy'). It is very important that it is the correct generation, or the system will not accept it (other generations will have a slightly different number than above). If I have not mistaken, the markings on the disc should be as follows 86271-53028 464210-2280 DATA ver 13.1 Revision notice date is OctoRev1.Version 13.1 is apparently just released, I just saw an auction on eBay for a disc which seems genuine (selling for $140), not sure if I am allowed to post a link in this forum?Īnyway, to the OP, the 2006-2009 Prius the "5th Generation". The part number of this so called, "USB Drive Navigation Map Update - Denso*" is TOYD-HDD07-13 which is for several Toyota from year 2012 - 2014. I just looked at the Technical Service Bulletin that I asked from the dealer after the update. The manager told me that since I was the first and so patient, there would be no charge. When they found the right one, it took only a few minutes. After 2 hours they told me that they had to call Toyota of California only to find out that they already have the particular USB dongle but which of the 35 dongles they have on hands. only to find out that there are no CD for my 2012 Prius V but they told me to bring the car in for USB update procedure.Īpparently my car is the first for the dealer to do the Nav map update. Monday came, so I called to confirm my appointment and informed the service department that my CD would be with the part department and asked if they can get the CD from the part dept. They told me that they don't stock the CD so I have to wait a few days and it should arrive the following Monday, so I made the appointment on Tuesday 7:30 am for the service. And since I didn't want to do it myself, I ordered the CD from my local dealer which I take my car in for services for years. I have the 2012 Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon, not an uppercase) and have been followed the similar threads for awhile and finally decided to go for it. KEEP UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST IN GPS NEWS. Toyota Prius - 2002 to 2011 (v24) Australia 24 and New Zealand 13. built in gps Ford Jaguar Land Rover Lexus Mazda. It consistently beats both the Garmin and Toyota system for best routing (based on me testing them on routes I know well). The latest Australia 22 and New Zealand 11 GPS Update available for selected Toyota models. You can choose between online maps or download them when at a convenient wifi spot (then have them even if out of coverage areas). The best system for directions that I have experience with is the Nokia "Here Drive +" app on the windows phone. This is on my v5 with the ATP option for reference. I value the system's list (although not always 100% accurate) on what's available at the next highway exit. I mention the co-worker as he told me his Tom Tom (w/lifetime updates) couldn't find his house (he's lived there for 5 years). I've been on several trips that exceeded 1000 miles from home, as well as using it to find a co-workers house, neither of which gave me problems. I hate that the Toyota updates cost so much (especially when compared to the wife's Garmin w/lifetime maps & traffic, or my phone which is regularly updated for no additional cost), but otherwise my experience has been very positive. Hey folks, Ive just spent an absurd amount of time on this site, with Professor Google, the Yahoo Prius 2G Group, EBay, and various Toyota groups trying to figure out precisely which DVDs are compatible with our Prius.
